Martial Arts
Taekwondo is the Korean martial art of empty hand fighting. The class will consist of the student learning how to balance his or her mind and body. Skills taught include kicking, punching, striking, self defense maneuvers, and offensive techniques. As students learn, they will progress through 9 levles of ranking to achieve black belt status.

Hunter Safety
Uintah Recreation helps to coordinate local Hunter Safety classes. The instructors over the hunter safety set up classes through the spring and fall months. Time and place for each class will be arranged according to availability of the shooting range and classroom and instructor. To get on a waiting list to be contacted for the next available class please email Hunter Education Instructors, Carl and Carole Jackson ccjack@easilink.com.  Please include name, phone number, and e-mail address.  When a class is scheduled, Jackson will contact the prospective students to pre-register by phone. Classes can also be taken online.  The fee is $6.00 which will be collected on the first night of class.

Classes available are:

Regular Hunter Education - Minimum 12 hours class time and a shooting test day.

Internet Hunter Education - www.wildlife.utah.gov  

Study is done on the internet. A registration form and 13 main chapter tests have to be printed out and brought to a one day, 5 hour practical experience class which will include hands on, instruction films, written and shooting tests.

                        Bow Hunter Class -            Minimum 12 hours 
                        Fur Harvester -                   Minimum   8 hours 

There is no age limit for Hunter Education, but parents must take responsibility to determine the maturity of their child  to comprehend the material and seriousness of what will be taught in the classroom, as well as being able to safely handle a firearm. 

Hunter Education Instructors may require parents of any student under the age of 10 to attend the class with their child. All students regardless of age must pass the standard written and shooting test, as well as being able to understand what is being taught in the class.

Enrichment Classes Wanted
Uintah Recreation District is always looking for classes that can be taught in our Schools. If you have a talent that you love to share such as foreign cooking, drama, dance, pottery, painting, the options are endless you can contact the Uintah Recreation District. We do classes in the Schools for both youth and adults.
